Heartstopper Volume Four

- Alice Oseman

GOODREADS BOOK BLURB:

Charlie didn’t think Nick could ever like him back, but now they’re officially boyfriends. Charlie’s beginning to feel ready to say those three little words: I love you.

Nick’s been feeling the same, but he’s got a lot on his mind – not least coming out to his dad, and the fact that Charlie might have an eating disorder.

As summer turns to autumn and a new school year begins, Charlie and Nick are about to learn a lot about what love means.

MY REVIEW:

absolute favourite:
5/5
Much more serious than the first three volumes; that was intense! But it did not take away from the innate perfection that is Nick and Charlie’s relationship.

I love how Oseman approached mental illness and ensured there was a comprehensive approach – no one person can fix everything or save you. Of course, it’s so good that Charlie has Nick, but Oseman did a great job of showing how important it was to make sure that Nick is not Charlie’s only lifeline.

Does anyone else hate Nick’s brother? Everyone else has some redeeming factors, but he is the actual worst.

It was a relief to get to the end and see there’s another volume still to come – and only a few months away! I’m sad it will be the last one because I’m not ready to be done with Nick and Charlie, but I’ll take what I can get.
