MY REVIEW:

meh, nothing special:
2.5/5

Well, that was boring.

What was the point of Juliette having to remember everything to become a strong, competent leader? I don’t know why I’m surprised – it’s at least the third time they’ve taken everything away and basically reset her as a person. And while this was the most literal, it’s certainly not the first.

I just kept waiting for something to happen. It was almost like someone starting twenty different conversations but forgetting to finish them. My list is very spoiler heavy, so I’m hiding it, but if you don’t look: it’s very long.

-Kenji and Nazeera: no idea what’s going on there
-The weirdness between Kenji and Castle: no explanation
-Warner disengaging: doesn’t really seem resolved
-White birds with crowns that have been teased since Shatter Me: nope just birds
-The multiple other ‘couples’ that are hinted at in this group: holding hands and everything’s fine, no explanation needed
-All the other supreme children that are so powerful and important: there they are, problems solved.
-A weapon that disarms powers: three uses, then forgotten.
I could keep going, but I’m basically just rewriting the book at this point.
Oh, and Juliette really likes the Andersons, doesn’t she? That was so unbelievably creepy.

This series has taken me on a journey from some insane highs to this. I honestly don’t want to read the last novella, but I’m hopeful of ending this series on a high note. I’ve not particularly liked any of the previous novellas, but this could be different, right?
